The Faversham Society is celebrating the 50th year of Open House this year.
Open House is the annual opportunity to gain special access to properties of considerable historical and architectural interest. Community minded owners open their properties on the first 3 Saturdays in July, so we can view and enjoy these special places.
It was one of the forerunners of Open Houses and may well have been used as a template for the National Heritage Open Days Scheme. Our prestigious event offers a unique insight into the town’s built environment. Faversham has over 500 listed buildings, some of which will be participating this year.
To celebrate 50 years of Open House, photos of many of the houses which have opened over the years will be on display in the Fleur Gallery in Preston Street, Faversham from the 14th to the 27th January 2019.
