The Faversham Society works to fulfil its mission to "Cherish the Past, Adorn the Present, Create for the Future." We actively review planning applications for individual properties and major developments and contribute to debates about Swale's Local Plan and Faversham Town Council's Neighbourhood Plan. We seek to sustainably develop Faversham for the future, conserving its natural, built, and living culture to maintain Faversham's heritage and ensure that it remains a great place to live. 

The Environment and Planning Committee recommends policy positions to the Board, which determines the Faversham Society's positions on behalf of the membership. This has been the practice since 2016. The Policy Blog records all our positions on planning and the future of our town.
