The Swale and Neighbourhood Plans

The Faversham Society has always taken a keen interest in shaping the future of Faversham to maintain our living and built heritage so that there is continuity between the past, present and future of our town.

The SHLAA Map showing all the sites put forward by developers can be found here
The red lines enclose land but forward landowners, the same is true of the blue lines, north of the M2 the blue lines delineate the Duchy of Cornwall land being put forward. South of the M2 the blue delineates the Gladman application.

The SE Faversham land currently proposed by Swale for development to include housing, schools and employment land is mapped here

Links to documents relevant to the Local Plan can be found here.

Swale is developing a new Local Plan and the Town Council is developing a Neighbourhood Plan. The Faversham Society is engaging with both planning processes and welcomes the participation of our members and others.

This is a list of the sites:

The SHLAA map is all the sites which have been brought forward for development - mostly for housing. They are unlikely all to be agreed for development. We want to ensure informed decision making.

The sites delineated in green already have planning permission, those in red and blue are yet to be decided.

A small group of Society members has worked through all the potential sites and we have now published the draft assessments.

The SHLAA map provides the numbers and if you go the Site Assessments page you will find a link to our initial assessment of each of the sites in the Faversham area. The sites are listed in numerical order.
