Objection to Holiday Homes at Brogdale

20/505877/OUT | Outline planning application for mixed-use development comprising a nursery school and flexible workshop/business units (all matters reserved except access). | Brogdale Farm Brogdale Road Ospringe ME13 8XU

The Faversham Society strongly objects to the revised proposals for housing development at Brogdale. This represents urbanisation south of the M2 in the buffer zone of the AONB. The application is for holiday lets but there is a considerable risk that these properties would subsequently be sold or let as permanent residences. Whether as holiday lets or residential accommodation, as the developers own images confirm, this represents urbanisation and should be refused.

To accept this application would set a precedent that is likely to result in very significant housing growth beyond that in the Local Plan

The Society reiterates its previous objection to this creeping urbanisation between the M2 and the AONB.
